Free Things to Do in Austin During the Week Of 5/13 To 5/18

Are you searching for free things to do in Austin Texas? If so, there are a variety of fun and free things to do in the ATX area this week including the following:

Today

Blue Monday Live at Juliet Italian Kitchen. As a complement to the station’s weekly Texas Radio Live show, Sun Radio presents this more occasional series to tie in with its long-running Blue Monday on-air program. The talent is hot for this one, with our 2018 Austin360 Artist of the Year Jackie Venson plus blues-rockin’ female quartet the Bluebonnets with twin-engine guitarists Kathy Valentine and Eve Monsees. 7 p.m. to 8 p.m. Monday. Donations to the Sun Radio Foundation accepted at the door. 1500 Barton Springs Road. sunradio.com. — Peter Blackstock

Tuesday

Summer Sunset Series by Wanderlust Yoga Austin. Wanderlust Yoga is hosting a weekly yoga series at Republic Square, held every Tuesday through Aug. 27. Each yoga class will be led by a Wanderlust yoga instructor and accompanied by a live musician or DJ. Have never done yoga or, conversely, know your way around a yoga mat? No problem. The classes are catered to all levels of yoga experience. 7:30 p.m. Tuesday. 422 Guadalupe St. eventbrite.com/e/summer-sunset-series-tickets-59765744955.

Wednesday

“Jackelope” Film Screening at the Umlauf. Held in conjunction with the sculpture garden and museum’s current show, “James Surls: With Out, With In” is a screening of “Jackelope,” about the Texas art scene in 1975. A Q&A will follow the film. 7 p.m. Wednesday. 605 Azie Morton Road. umlaufsculpture.org/insights.

Thursday

“The Merchant of Venice.” Austin Shakespeare brings the romance, comedy and dramatic clashes of “The Merchant of Venice” to Zilker Park. This interpretation of the Shakespeare play will be set in the Belle Époque of 1890s Italy, which was characterized by fashionable women and flashy gentlemen. 8 p.m. Thursday-Sunday through May 26. Free. Beverly S. Sheffield Zilker Hillside Theater, 2206 William Barton Drive. austinshakespeare.org.

Friday

KUTX Rock the Park. The family-friendly concert was moved from May 3 because of weather, but expect all the same artists and activities. Get your face painted starting at 6:15 p.m.; at 6:45 p.m., Kat’s Pajamas will play, and at 7:30 p.m. Moving Panoramas will take the stage. Food trucks will provide dinner. Come a little early to snag your spot on the law. (Blankets are cool, but chairs are not.) 6:15 p.m. Friday. Mueller Lake Park, 4550 Mueller Blvd. facebook.com/events/2309127886009241.

Saturday, May 18

Third Annual Festival of Good.
