Celebrating 100 Years of 1306 E.6th Street this month!! How amazing to think of all the life that has flowed through this little bungalow the past TEN decades. And it has always been a place of good vibes, energy, music & gatherings, too. Long before Licha’s Cantina it was owned by Paul Sessum of the legendary Black Cat – one of Austin’s OG music venues on 6th street. Then turned party house called the Chicken Wire Ranch before being renamed The Typewriter Museum – a venue that set the stage for hundreds of bands & local (E.A.S.T.) artists - & served as a rebellious escape from festival institutions. Papi Tino’s was the first restaurant at 1306 before Licha arrived in 2014. -- It’s such an honor to be able to announce this centennial as the current ‘residents’ of 1306, & we have faith that just as these walls have stood the test of time, & the branches have grown back after the storm, Licha’s Cantina will also. -- We did a little digging to see what we could learn of the history of the house & its previous owners (MRS. M.S. HANNA?) but not much was found. If you have a photo of a time at 1306 – whether as Licha’s or not – please share! we’d love to see all the good times had here & will re-post them! Thank you for all of your support, Austin!! We love you!! #centennial #anniversary #1306 #eastside #austin #78702 #partyhouse #chickenwireranch #typewritermuseum #papitinos #lichascantina
