Rooftop Theater Comes to Downtown Austin

The Drive In Theater and Performance Venue is a collaboration between the Downtown Austin Alliance and Blue Starlite Drive-in Theater, bringing outdoor movie experience and performance theater together on the rooftop of a downtown parking garage on 3rd & San Antonio St. 

The theater opens August 27th and runs through October, showing movies Wednesday through Friday and other selective dates. 

The Skyline Drive-in will feature classic movies, pop culture favorites and a weekly focus on movies that highlight great music and musicians. In addition to the featured films, Downtown Austin Alliance Foundation will focus on bringing in a community programming series featuring Austin artists, storytellers, musicians and organizations. This collaboration will create a safe performance space for the collective creative community to share their gifts. 

The Downtown Alliance also plans to partner with local restaurants and businesses near the theater so guests can pick up or have meals delivered to the drive-in. Truly an Austin experience and a direct way to save our businesses that have been impacted by COVID-19. 

To ensure safety and health protocols with the city's guidelines, all vehicle windows must be at 75% if not wearing a mask during the film and guest MUST stay in their vehicles at all times with the exception of the using the restroom, for which a mask is required.
